If you like catchy country and deliciously layered harmonies sprinkled with a healthy dose of charisma, you will love the Dirt Road Angels! Five-time ACMA Group of the Year and Fans Choice nominees, the Dirt Road Angels were honored to kick off a TV Series called “The Moment”. Having released ten singles to Canadian Country Radio from three albums collectively, their latest album “Extra Dirty" features energetic modern edgy country rock such as the title track and their 10th single “Call It Home”, both which went #1 on the European Country Music Charts.
Danita Lynn, Dahlia Wakefield, Shila Marie and Karen Claypool came together in 2013 and have come a long way in their 7 years together. From their very first single, upbeat "Back Around The Mountain" (Written by J.B Rudd, Carl J. Vipperman, and Joanna Cotten), along with their fun summer single "Extra Dirty" (Written by Terez Maureen, Lynn Tessari), to their 8th single “Enjoy The Ride” (Written by Dahlia Wakefield and producer Rob Hewes), their three albums display intricate harmonies, heartwarming melodies and relatable lyrics.
Their third album "Extra Dirty" features modern country rock songs such as the title track as well as two well-known cover songs "Folsom Prison Blues" and crowd favorite "Seven Bridges Road" along with six of their own originals, which also includes the heart-felt ballad "Little One" (Written by Dahlia Wakefield and Maryanne Schwartz). Two songs on their second album "Paint The Town Red" were finalists in the 2014 International Acoustic Music Awards as well as the 2014 Calgary Folk Music Song writing contest.
Energetic country meets edgy rock whenever the Dirt Road Angels hit the stage. These hard-working gals have showcased at CCMA week and performed at many other high profile events such as Taste of Edmonton, Boots and Hearts Festival, Porkapalooza, Blueberry Bluegrass Music Festival, Beaumont Blues & Roots Festival, Festival Place Patio Series and more. They have enjoyed opening for some top country acts including Kira Isabella, Brett Kissell, High Valley, Doc Walker, Road Hammers, Aaron Pritchett; even U.S. acts Colin Raye, Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin, Blackjack Billy and many more. Being nominated five years in a row at the ACMA for Group of the Year as well as Fan's choice, has been an honour.
These ladies are very grateful for their loyal fans and are proud of their accomplishments thus far without a major record label. They are writing some new music very soon and are excited for the continuation of their musical journey.
With their future bright, these Dirt Road Angels have taken flight and continue to soar!
